Pronounced, 'zaw-mar'. Zamar is a Hebrew word which means to sing, play, praise. To make music.Through the use of ultra-sensitive, sonar technology, participants create music.No previous experience is required. the system could be used as a means to measure motor or social skills, development, memory or emotional wellbeing.Simple enjoyment or creating serious compositions are also possibilities!Zamar can be programmed to create virually any sound or instrument.

We are based in Lacombe, Alberta. You are welcome to attend one of our demonstration days at the Lacombe Memorial Centre. Zamar will serve the community within the Central Alberta Region.

the policies

MISSION
To offer music experience without boundaries.
VISION
To see the joy of creating music made available regardless of cognitive or physical ability.
TUITION
Group payments are required by e-transfer or cash in advance, on or before the day of the booking/session. Monthly individual lesson payments are required by e-transfer or in cash on the first of each month.
ATTENDANCE
Unless pre-approved, all participants must be accompanied by either their program director or personal assistant throughout a session.
ABSENCES
A missed lesson is considered forfeited unless cancelled for sickness.
SICKNESS
Sessions will be rescheduled due to sickness, to keep everone's immune system healthy.
INSTRUCTOR ABSENCES
If a session or lesson is cancelled, a future make up will be offered.
CANCELLATION/WITHDRAWLS
With exception to emergencies, participants must give 24 hour cancellation notice.
PHOTO/VIDEO CONSENT
Zamar respects the privacy off all participants and adheres to the Freedom of 'Information and Protection of Privacy Act'. Sessions may be filmed or photographed for promotional or instructional purposes. Consent is required upon registration. Such content is the property of Zamar.
LIABILITY
We are not responsible for any injuries or damages that may occur while using our equipment or participating in our activities. You are solely responsible for your own safety and well-being while using our services.
RIGHT TO REFUSE
Inappropriate behaviour according the discretion of Zamar will not be tolerated in any form.

Zamar band

Our aim in early 2026 is to birth the formation of a performing 'all abilities' band. The Zamar band will be an integrative group of musicians chosen to play together for God's glory and the joy of others. Music mixed with personal stories. Interested? Contact us. who are we?

Zamar is owned and operated by the Cameron family of Lacombe Alberta. Tom Cameron (Program Director), has an extensive history teaching guitar to students with a wide range of ages and abilities. The Camerons also founded Guitar Church, a Canadian wide guitar school franchise as well as Skip's Place, an alternative Sunday school program for young children with special needs and their families.

Because we are having so much fun creating music, we dont have time for alot of social media ; )
- How much does a session cost?
There are two different options to experience. When you know your specific need, reach out to us.
- How far will you travel?
With some exceptions, we like to stay within 50 kms of Lacombe.
- How do I register?
We will email you the required registration and consent forms that can be printed, filled out and returned to us.
